We kept this buck when we decided to sell his sire Rainmaker in 2017. We felt that he would complement Echo's general appearance while maintaining strength of feet and angulation of rear legs. In the few breedings we made in 2018, he did not disappoint. He sired the first and second place junior kids at the ADGA National Show. In 2019, we used him HEAVILY and he again, he did not disappoint. He added length, strength of feet and legs, and level toplines to his daughters. His daughter- Kickapoo Valley Jive Lament- was BJDIS at the Indiana State Fair over 490 goats! In 2020, as we saw udders, and the more we fell in love with his daughters and him. The udders are globular, high and wide with great attachments and beautiful teat placement. This year the Jive daughter looked amazing. We finished Jive Laughter and she was BIS at two highly competitive state fairs (Wisconsin and Indiana) Dry daughters, Jive Nonsense, Jive Phrenzy, Jive Passion, and Jive Prestige were always at the top of their classes. We look forward for these daughters to join the others in our herd. We have limited semen left on Jive that we will be retaining; we plan on using it this fall

When opportunity came knocking, we quickly answered. We were presented to add Momentum to our herd at the ADGA National Show in July 2016, and we pounced quickly. Two days after we agreed to purchase "Mo", his dam went on to be the Reserve National Champion at the 2016 ADGA National Show. We have had the opportunity to own "Mo" for four years now, and a lot of our younger does are out of him. Currently, we have 5 milking daughters in our herd. Mo excels in adding lateral attachment, length, and angulation of rear leg to his daughters from their dam. Additionally, we see consistency in terms of width across the back, length of neck, and depth of body. His Junior Get of Sire was 2nd at the 2017 ADGA National Show. We had him leased out in 2019, however he will be used here again in 2020. In 2021, two Mo daughters finished their championships and was placed 1st Sr Get of Sire at the ADGA National Show! We lost Mo just a few weeks ago - we had planned to use him a bit this year since we only have one milking daughter left in our herd. We have plans to AI one doe to him, but it will all depend on the timing otherwise we will use him again at a later time. He does have a lovely son in the Hardluck Hollow son that we hope to get some offspring out of in the future so Mo will live on.

In 2014, she was 4xGCH and is very a dairy dry yearling as well as being 17th place at the National Show. Even though Deseray was a late freshener in May, we were ecstatic when she freshened with a textbook udder. Beautiful shape, beautiful teat placement, wide rear udder and a mile long fore udder. She easily finished her championship this season and went 3xGCH and 2XRGCH as well as appraised at a FS89 (VEEE) as a first freshener, the highest a first freshener can appraise. As a 3 Year Old, Deseray continued to impress us. At the ADGA National Show in 2016, she placed 6th Place in the 3 Year Old and was the member of the First Place Dairy Herd. In 2017 at the ADGA National Show, Deseray was 3rd place 4 year old with 2nd udder.

Music was always the class of the farm - very stylish and a beauty to look at, we appreciated her for her correctness and capacious mammary system. Barn records in past years, show that she peaked at over 17 lbs of milk after producing quads in 2004. In 2006, Music surprised us by only having a single doe kid - in actuality this single birth was very good for her in that it caused her to not milk quite as much, leaving the udder a bit tighter all the way around which was a very good thing for a seven year doe. She showed her best placing 5xBOB and 1xBIS; she was the second placed seven year old and older class right behind the National Champion. In 2007, she had two buck kids and again didn't come into as much milk. It took her awhile, but she finally came around and at the National Show, she looked her best. We were proud of her when she topped the class and headed the line up in the champion class. In 2008 she again milked steadily as a nine year old as she again topped her class and went on to be crowned Reserve National Champion and Reserve Best Udder. Music died in her sleep on August 31,

Yuppie is a linebred Saga daughter. She is very tall, sharp and dairy with a nearly ideal rear udder. In 2009 she was 3x1st. We love her dairy character and upstanding nature. Yuppie showed and milked well this past season going 5x1st and 3x ResCH. In 2011 she has been one of the stars of the showring placing 4xGCH and 1xReserve. Unfortunately she became ill after an early July show and has since been dried up. We believe she would have placed very high at the National Show. Her two year old daughter was 2nd and 3rd udder two year old. Yuppie has come back from her bout with mastitis in 2011 and looks great in 2012 so far she has been 2xBOB. Saga’s dam was the unbelievable GCH Saba who only seemed to get better with age. Saga seems to be doing the same thing - he just produces better and better offspring the older he gets. Likewise, the daughters seem to get better every year as well. Saba was an incredibly deep and powerful doe with superb feet and legs. We brought Saga here to use because we wanted some of those "Saba"qualities to bring into our own herd. The sire side of this pedigree also goes back to Saba, but combines two of the greatest sires we at Kickapoo Valley have ever used - ++*B Hoach’s California Gold and ++*B Hoach’s Lyric Liason. His oldest daughters are still relatively young - the oldest being four year olds. The majority of his daughters placed in the top ten at the National Show in 2007. Again in 2008, his daughters did very well. He sired the 1st/1st udder yearling, the 4th, 12th, and 13th place two-year old, and the 6th/2nd udder four year old. To date, we know of 10 champion offspring. We felt blessed when he was named the National Show Premier Sire for the 4th time - Saga continues to become part of Alpine history. He is the sire of our 2009 Spotlight Sale consignment, Kickapoo Valley A Zeus Scandal. He sired the 3rd place Intermediate Kid, 1st, 2nd, 6th, and 12th place Senior kid, Junior Champion and 1st Place Junior Get - his milking daughters were 9th yearling, 11th three year old, and 3rd place four year old. In the fall of 2010, Saga did not settle any does - when we went to have him collected, we found his semen to have low mobility - we no longer have semen available. Saga will continue to impact our herd through his offspring.

We brought this buck in to use in the fall of 2009. He is a classic cou blanc. We chose Lifeline because we always have admired his dam and her tremendous length. Her mammary system is also outstanding. Looking at the depth of his pedigree the three Hoach's bucks we have owned, ++*B Hoach's California Gold, ++*B Hoach's Lyric Liason, and *B Hoach' s Lyric Landslide are in the pedigree eight times. Lifeline's maternal sister in the Pleasant Grove herd was fourth at the 2009 and 2010 ADGA National Show and appraised FS-91 (E,E,E,E). In 2011, Length was 1st place four year old and went on to be Reserve National Champion. His daughter Kickapoo Valley Life Addiction was 1st place Junior Kid at the 2010 ADGA National Show. We again plan to breed him to some of our best does in 2012.
