We
jumped at the chance to add some Travis blood back into our herd two years ago -
Goldie came to join us around the time of the convention and she was already
bred to +*B KASTDEMUR'S TACH LACH - we now have some outstanding offspring
from her son *B Barnowl KTL Azkaban.
While not the tallest of Lamanchas, we love her smoothness of blending,
strength of feet and legs coupled with her productivity and rear udder
height. Goldie was shown 10x in 2010
and was 4xGCH and 3XBOB. This past season she usually placed behind
Yellobird and Zurich, but milked a lot. Barn records have her at nearly
18lbs all summer long. She has a lovely milking yearling daughter sired by Wildthing.

What
can you say about those dry does that win National Reserve Champion, ohhh...they
never turn out. Well, Yellobird is one of those exceptions - she is an
absolute joy to own. As
a yearling milker, Yellobird competed an UNDEFEATED season. She was
also 5xGCH, and 11xReserve. She was Best in Show three times as a
yearling. Yellobird's strength is her wide with beautiful rear legs and a great
topline. There is no doubt, one of our best Lamanchas we have bred to date.
Yellobird was 4th with 1st udder at the National Show in 2010. She was
also 8xBOB and 5xBIS last season. This year she has been awesome placing
11xBOB and 8xBIS. At three years of age, she has already been 16xBIS in
her lifetime. What I appreciate most about this doe is her nearly flawless
mammary system - there is no doubt it is one of the best we have ever
bred. Yellobird has been bred despite having some problems with a type of
founder - we are doing our best to resolve the problem, but at this time are not
sure what the future holds for her. Yellobird is doing fairly well after
her freshening, but we will be drying her off and allowing her to rest this
summer.

Zurich
had an awesome season as a dry kid and was 1st every time shown except once -
including placing first at the NAILE. Zurich freshened late and attended
the National Show newly fresh, but was able to place 5th in a nice class of
does.
Zurich was 5x1st , 3x2nd and 1x 3rd; she was also 1xReserve as a yearling milker.
There is no doubt that if one is looking for general appearance, this doe excels
in that category - her daughter, Kickapoo Valley AKA Bern, is our fanciest kid
and looks like she will be outstanding in the spring. Zurich was 4xGCH,
2xReserve, and 1xBIS this season.

Arcadia
was the 2010 ADGA National champion and from the time she was born we thought
she was going to be nice. She has been 6x1st, 1xGCH, and 4xReserve (all to
herdmates this season). She became precocious last season and aborting at
about 100 days left her with an udder that we did not start to milk. She
dried up well, but began to make milk in late August until we got to the point
where we had to milk her about every three days. All I can say
is that this udder already rivals that of Yellobird's. We can't wait to
show her. She went on to win a second National Championship as a kid and
we are excited about what she could be in the future - she is a Sequel
granddaughter. Arcadia's dam
broke her leg as a kid and was not showable, but her mammary system was awesome
- likewise now fresh Arcadia is awesome!!! Her buck kid by Wild Thing will
be a junior herdsire at Pleasant Grove this spring.

From
her birth until the first time we clipped this doe, we knew she was hot!
She is so correct in the front end and moves with so much width - we can only
dream that she has an udder like her dam's - look for her in the spring of next
year. She was 3rd place Intermediate kid, a part of our best three
juniors, and has been 8x1st, 3xGCH, and 3xBIS. As a dry yearling she
topped the class more times than did Arcadia and was 3xBIS this
season. She has a mammary system that is all attachment. She
will do well in the show ring, but will continue to develop as she matures.
